Round 7 of All Japan Motocross Championship took place at HSR Kyushu in Kumamoto Prefecture.
Including this weekend, there are only 2 rounds left in the season.
In Heat 1, Yohei Kojima made a decent start and comes back the first lap in 8th position.
Riding in a constant lap time, Kojima was able to overtake the rider in front to grab 7th in the following lap, then in lap 6, he overtook another rider to take 6th and showed a fantastic performance.
Maintaining this good momentum, Kojima pushed as hard and as a result, he finished 6th in Heat 1.
In Heat 2, Kojima has missed the start and comes back the first lap in 12th position.
On the following lap he raised his position up to 11th and started charging through the field.
In lap 5, Kojima came up to 10th and kept his confidence maintained however, he unfortunately crashed just after he got up to 10th.
Fortunately, there was no damage to the bike and restarted the race back in 13th position.
After getting back into the race Kojima rode in constant lap times and as a result, finishes Heat 2 in 12th position.
Ending the weekend in 10th overall.
Next round will be the final round of the season, the “MFJ Grand Prix” at Sports Land SUGO on the 26th and 27th of October.
“In today’s Heat 1 I finished 6th, and in Heat 2 I missed the start and fell back and the crashed in the middle of the race affected to finish 12th. This weekend, I was worried about my physical condition however, in Heat 1 I had the best ride throughout the whole year, and I am happy for that. In Heat 2, while I was trying to recover from a bad start and got up to 10th, I had an unexpected highside. Fortunately, I did not have any injury however, I have a sore hip from the crash.
With that said, I am keeping 5th in the championship and I am happy to be able to ride comfortably in HSR Kyushu that I am not good at.
Next round will be the final round of the season the “MFJ Grand Prix” being held at Sports Land SUGO.
Please look forward for my last challenge of the season and also for Bells Racing / SoCal MXTF. Thank you!”
