Round 7 of All Japan Motocross Championship took place at HSR Kyushu in Kumamoto Prefecture.
Yohei Kojima will challenge the race for Oshiro as well, who was injured during training last week and is forced missed the rest of the season.
It will be the second time this season, including the opening round, which was held in April this year.
The IA-1 Class qualifying race format will be a 10 minute + 1 lap race. The starting position for tomorrow’s race will be decided from the result of this race. Therefore, today’s qualifying race is a very important factor for riders.
Kojima got off to a good start and passed 4th on the first lap. Kojima continued to push, as a result Kojima finished 7th in the qualifying race.
Due to the absence of Oshiro, the team will make adjustments for the race week and tomorrow’s final race for the first time in about one year, and will challenge the race with perfect condition.
“I was worried about the event itself due to the typhoon this weekend, but fortunately there was little impact in the Kyushu region, and I was able to welcome the 7th round of the All Japan Motocross Championship.
Originally it was planned to participate with Kainosuke Oshiro fighting in IA-2 class however, unfortunately, he crashed during training and broke both of his wrist. He had to miss this and the final race. I am a little relieved because he is recovering smoothly.
Due to such an accident, I will fight alone for the first time in about one year. However, all the team staff responded calmly and I was able to go out on the course comfortably.
There was almost no influence of the typhoon that I was worried about this time, and I am fighting in the best condition.
The qualifying was good for me and I was able to have a good start.
The result was 7th, but I will do my best to make it possible.
Also, since young riders are getting faster, I will do my best to let the fans see my veteran run.
Please look forward for Bells Racing / SoCal MXTF and Yohei Kojima. Thanks!”
There will be 2 heats held for tomorrow’s race.
Heat 1 will start at 11:10a.m. and heat 2 will start at 14:50p.m. in the afternoon.
