Round 6 of All Japan Motocross Championship is taking place at the Meihan Sports Land in Nata Prefecture.
Kainosuke Oshiro and Bells Racing / SoCal MXTF’s home grand prix had begun.
The IA-2 Class Qualifying Race is divided into 2 groups forming Group A and B. Top 15 riders will move on to the finals for tomorrow with a 10 minute + 1 lap race. It is a critical race since this will decide who gets the best starting position for tomorrow’s race and below top 15 will be eliminated from tomorrow’s race.
This weekend, Oshiro was placed in Group B. From the interval from last race to this race, Oshiro had visited the United States for training. From the beginning Oshiro made a good start and was racing for 2nd place to show strength from the training.
Oshiro was fighting for 2nd throughout the race however, the hard push was not enough and finished 3rd overall.
Oshiro will now concentrate for tomorrow and try to earn his second win of the season.
“In today’s qualifying race I finished in 3rd position. From the start, I was in 2nd or 3rd and settled in for 3rd position and pushed as hard as possible for the 2nd position however, I was not able to catch the rider in front and finished 3rd. Looking back to the race, for me it was a very disappointing 3rd place.
After the race, there were small problem with the machine however, the team worked hard for me to get the bike ready for tomorrow’s race. As for tomorrow, I will be prepared at the maximum level and try to win the race.
Thank you very much and please look forward for my race tomorrow.”
There will be 2 heats held for tomorrow’s race.
Heat 1 will start at 10:05a.m. and heat 2 will start at 13:45p.m. in the afternoon.
